Sunday Brunch: The Palm at the End

Sunday Brunch: The Palm at the End

Sunday’s a good time to reflect on old adventures, such as the time we spent a month on the western coast of Sicily with hardly a dime to our names, a car that wasn’t ours, and a fluency in Italian that was less than half a star (no fluency in Sicilian). But we survived and have dozens of photos, film clips, and stories to show for it. Thus begins a new series, O Sicilia, You’re Breaking Our Heart.

This palm was growing on the site of an ancient temple garden on high ground overlooking the Mediterranean in the complex at Selinunte. If it’s not the “Palm at the end of the mind” that Wallace Stevens had, ahem, in mind, then there isn’t one.

Have a great Sunday!
